Lighting steps and walks
Steps, walks and changes in level are the first things we light. Many Atlanta homes have long runs of steps from the street or down a slope, and a few well-placed lights make them safe at night.
Lighting trees, walls and patios
Uplighting on a large oak or a stone wall gives a yard depth after dark. Soft downlighting from a tree canopy can light a patio like moonlight. We aim for even, warm light and avoid the runway look of a light every few feet.
How the systems work
We install low-voltage LED systems: a transformer plugs into an outdoor outlet and steps power down to a safe voltage, and cable runs to each fixture. Systems run on a timer, a photocell or a smart app. Brass and copper fixtures hold up best in our humidity.
